Your payment details are processed by secure third-party providers like Shopify Payments, Squarespace Payments, PayPal, or Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. We use this information to complete your transactions, send receipts or confirmations, and respond to customer service questions.

If you purchase a gift card, we collect the same information as a regular order and track gift card balances as required by law. While gift cards are digital, they must be fully funded by us and are only redeemable through our main store at thatsnothowyouchristian.com.

If you choose to create an account on our site, your login and account details (such as your email and password) are securely managed by our platform provider, either Shopify or Squarespace. We do not store or have access to your password. We may be able to view account-related details like your name, email address, and past orders to help support your experience.

We also use your information to issue and manage digital gift cards, which are valid only on our main site and not redeemable through third-party checkout systems like TikTok Shop or Instagram.

  • Squarespace, which hosts our main website and one of our online stores, processes payments through Squarespace Payments when you place an order through that part of the site.

  • Shopify, which hosts another one of our online stores, processes payments through Shopify Payments when you make a purchase there.

  • PayPal and Stripe, which are available at checkout, securely process your payment information through their own systems.

  • Printful, our fulfillment partner, receives your order and shipping details so they can produce and ship your items.

  • If your order includes a gift card, fulfillment and confirmation messages may be sent via email, even if no physical item is shipped.

Do We Sell or Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. Not to advertisers. Not to data brokers. Not even to angels. If we ever consider something like a business transfer, we will make sure your information remains protected and that you are notified as required by law.

Shopify also does not sell your customer data. However, state privacy laws such as those in California and Virginia define certain types of activity as sharing, even when no money changes hands. For example, some tools we use such as analytics or marketing integrations may legally be considered sharing under those definitions. These tools help us understand what is working, where people are coming from, and how we can improve what we offer. We do not use your personal information to make assumptions about who you are.

  • Google Analytics helps us understand what pages people visit, how long they stay, and what kind of devices they use. It helps us improve the site and content, but does not show us individual identities.

  • Facebook and Instagram through Meta let us connect products to social platforms and see how people interact with our content or ads. These tools also help us understand which memes or merch might be reaching the right audience.

  • TikTok tracking pixels help us see if someone who watched one of our TikToks ends up visiting the site or placing an order. It also helps improve how our ads show up on TikTok.

  • Pinterest tag integrations allow us to promote products through Pinterest and see which pins are getting clicks or conversions.

  • Google Ads and Google Shopping connections help us advertise products directly through Google search results or listings. These tools also track which items people click on or buy after seeing an ad.

  • Shopify’s built-in integrations with advertising platforms let us connect your shopping activity (like viewing or purchasing an item) with tools that help us run better ads or understand sales performance. We do not share or sell gift card balances, email addresses, or redemption histories with any external marketing or ad platform.

  • Manually added tools like the X (formerly Twitter) pixel can track when someone clicks on a post or ad and visits our site. This helps with ad reporting and understanding what’s getting people’s attention.

We do not use tools for cross-site tracking ourselves, but some third-party platforms may track visits based on your interaction with their services. The tools we use operate only on our site and are intended to help us understand how our website and store are performing. You can opt out of this kind of tracking by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser. If you have placed an order or interacted with us directly and would like us to remove your information from any advertising tools we use, email us at support@thatsnothowyouchristian.com. We will do what we can on our end to limit any further data use.

Gift Cards:

Gift cards are digital-only and can only be redeemed at our main site, thatsnothowyouchristian.com. They cannot be used directly through third-party checkouts such as TikTok Shop or Instagram’s native checkout. We track balances internally and do not share redemption history with marketing or advertising platforms.

Cookies & Tracking:

Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help websites function more smoothly. We use them to keep your shopping cart active, remember your preferences, and understand how people are using our site. These include functional cookies that help the site run properly and analytics cookies that show us which pages are popular, how long people stay, and what devices they are using.

We use built-in analytics tools from both Squarespace and Shopify, as well as Google Analytics, which we plan to enable. These tools help us improve the site but do not show us your personal identity. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. If that ever changes, we will update this policy.

You can choose to block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Just know that doing so may affect how the site functions, especially features like your shopping cart. We also respect browser settings that support Global Privacy Control, which automatically signals websites not to share or sell personal information.

We honor valid privacy requests and will not treat you any differently for exercising your rights. Your access to our site, products, or support will not change. To make a request, email us at support@thatsnothowyouchristian.com. We may need to confirm your identity before we can process your request.  If you appoint someone to make a request on your behalf, we may ask for proof of authorization and still need to verify your identity. 

Please note that we may still need to retain certain information for legal, tax, or order-related reasons. For example, we cannot delete purchase records required for accounting. We will always try to honor valid requests. If we ever have to decline one, you can appeal by replying to our decision email and we’ll take another look.

We take security seriously. Your personal information is stored on secure servers and managed through trusted third-party platforms. For example, if you provide credit card information, it is encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS and handled directly by our PCI-compliant payment processors.
