Inflated Hype
When did praising God get so serious?
We act like worship has to look holy, but maybe it’s just supposed to look alive (Psalms 134:2). God’s not grading your hand placement; He just wants to know you showed up ready to play. Whether it’s reverent or ridiculous, surrender is still surrender.
Maybe the point isn’t about the posture. Maybe it’s about remembering joy is a form of worship too, even if it starts with a beach ball bouncing off your head. And maybe, just maybe, heaven’s version of worship looks a little less like solemn staring and a little more like dodgeball.
Questions for the Week and Strong:
1. If joy hit you in the face, would you catch it or duck?
2. If God asked you to clap on beat, would that strengthen your faith or destroy it?
3. When God tosses something your way, are you ready to pass it on or just watch it fall?
This Week in Prayer and Accidental Joy:
Lord, we come to You today with open hearts and questionable ideas. And if it takes a beach ball bouncing through the crowd to wake us up, then let that beach ball be holy. Guide our praise, lift our spirits, and help us not hit anyone in the face too hard. Amen.
